The B777-300ER cargo conversion program contract was signed between AVIC SAC COMMERCIAL AIRCRAFT CO., LTD. and Israel Aerospace Industries(IAI). The contract covers 12 work packages such as doors, frames, floor beam assemblies, 9G grid, etc. The size of the work package of frames is about 6 ~ 8 meters, which is the largest in size of passenger-cargo conversion program undertaken by AVIC SAC. The first delivery is scheduled for 2021.
At present, as the COVID-19 epidemic continues to spread around the world, a large number of air passenger transport has been forced to suspend operations due to the epidemic, but there is a huge demand gap for air cargo. The B777-300ER passenger-cargo conversion program has a promising market prospect. The signing of this contract lays a more solid foundation for the development of AVIC SAC in cargo conversion programs and provides a strong support for the expansion of new economic growth points.
